I read chapter one and they had battles. Although I don't get the meaning of it, I think it's a battle between the author and Culpurnia. Culpurnia always asked her to do things and Culpurnia always won. They knew each other very long, ever since Jem, harper's brother was born.

Where did you get this piece of info?I mean,it's good.I don't even know this novel is based on a real life story.Is Calpurnia really a real person and a friend to the authour-Harper Lee?

I think everyone inside is really a friengd to Harper Lee in real life. but the novel, may have some changes as she can't remember it so clearly.
